The factor that creativity fuels the performance within the modern business environment appears in many strands. Building upon this, the current research critiques the existing body of literature, covering the period between 2001 and March 2024 (June) through a variety of journals. Essentially, it seeks to ask how, ‘creative contexts increase overall performance by increasing engagement, job satisfaction, and awareness of motivation.' The current research adopts the methodology of bibliometrics, which is made available through Biblioshiny, an RStudio. An effective search strategy was designed, with a tailored search query aimed at retrieving cognate literature, filtering the results to 'journal articles' and 'reviews', scoped to the latest stage of publication, based on journal source types. The obtained set was cleaned, leading to its importation to the Biblioshiny for trend analysis. Key points that can be taken away are that very few studies have investigated employee engagement in relation to flexible workspaces, an aesthetically pleasing setting, psychological well-being, feeling psychologically safe, and humor in the workplace. A look at the co-authorship network shows that there is a strong global web of collaboration that is reflecting an emerging new trend of more partnerships between developed and developing countries. This critical analysis is beneficial for practitioners and academics who seek to optimize work design and enhance creativity at work. This critical analysis will offer a closer examination of how creative and well-designed workplaces can increase productivity and effectiveness. |
