dc.description.abstract Job Satisfaction is considered as a most important element in achieving organizational goals and objectives. The purpose of this study is to measure the level of job satisfaction and determine the influence of job satisfaction factors among the officers of the Divisional Secretariat, Trincomalee Town & Grivets. The objectives of this study were to identify the factors determine the employee job satisfaction; to recognize the factors influence job satisfaction; to find out the gap in between job satisfaction and the hierarchical levels; to suggest the ways to improve the individual job satisfaction. Intrinsic job satisfaction and extrinsic job. satisfaction is defined as factors which determine the employees' job satisfaction. As such, this study assesses these two variables and their influences on job satisfaction. Sample of one hundred officers were taken from various levels including top level, middle level and low level through statistic random sample method. Data were administered through questionnaires and they have been presented in the form of tables, pie charts and bar charts. Survey data were gathered from a sample of 100 workers employed in the Divisional Secretariat - Town & grivets. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS- Version 17). The implications of the findings are di5cussed. Based on those variables, the study concludes that the top-level staff has proper job sati5faction with considerable impact on their organization. Likewise, the middle level and low-level staff have insufficient job satisfaction and no considerable impact on their organization. However, the overall divisional secretariat staff have marginal level of job satisfaction in the organization. Eventually conclusions and recommendations have been drawn up to achieve this study objective and job satisfaction has also been incorporated to assist the officers of the Trincomalee Town & grivets Divisional Secretariat. This might help them to improve self-satisfaction and achieve the common goal of their organization en_US
