Optimization of nonlinear equations is a very important part in field of Engineering and Science. Solving Clamped string problem is one of the main problems in these fields. Various numerical methods are used to solve the clamped string problems. These clamped string problems are normally solved using the method of constrained optimization. There are several methods (for example, Active set strategies, Reduction
methods, penalty method etc.) to solve this kind of constrained problems. All these
have the complex algorithms. Much time will be taken to get accurate solutions by using
these algorithms manually. So, we need an efficient tool to overcome these problems.
In this paper, a new graphical user interface tool which is developed using MatlabTM is introduced for solving this problem. This tool includes the most popular constrained optimization methods to solve clamped string problems. This GUI tool included the features for selecting the solving method through the pop menu. And it has separate window for graphical output and solutions. It has some animated graphs to find the difference between initial solution and final solutions. And also some other details such as errors, alpha displayed in the output window. Hence, we can compare each method with other method. So, this tool will be very useful for the researchers who are carrying out researches on clamped string problems in this field. They can check their analytical solutions to the nonlinear models for a particular solving technology |
