A study on project management practices on project life cycle in Manufacturing Industries

Abstract

This research explores project management practices in manufacturing industries in Ibbagamuwa, Kurunegala, specifically focusing on the application of project management methodologies throughout the project life cycle. Using a case study approach, the study examines how project management practices are applied across various manufacturing sectors, organized according to the five stages of the project life cycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure. The research compares these practices across different sectors, identifying common strategies and methodologies used at each stage. By analyzing these practices, the study aims to uncover best practices that contribute to improved project management outcomes. The findings are intended to offer valuable insights into how project management processes can be optimized, leading to more efficient project execution and better overall results within the manufacturing industry. Through this investigation, the research contributes to a deeper understanding of effective project management strategies, providing practical recommendations for manufacturers to enhance their project management efficiency and align their practices with industry standards.
